AT-38C Talon by Sketchh22
AT-38C Talon
Finally got around to finishing my AT-38 I started back in 2011. This jet belongs to the 49th Fighter Training Squadron at Columbus AFB where they teach incoming fighter pilots the basics of tactical flying. Again this was one of my earliest attempts at a full background and is the first I've actually completed. Most of my time was spent on blending and correcting pencil blots in the sky. While I'm satisfied (sts) with the result I could definitely tell my technique has improved over the years!

Time: Between 60-80 hrs, Jun 11 - Mar 15
- 4H - 6B Graphite
- mechanical pencils
- Blending stumps, Q-Tips, tissues
Size: A4 (8 1/2" x 11") 100 lb paper

Thanks for viewing!
F-15A Eagle by Sketchh22
F-15A Eagle
This is an F-15 from the 49th Tactical Fighter Wing "Fightin' Forty-niners" flagship based at Holloman AFB in NM. The noseart says "City of Alamogordo" (where Holloman is) with a silhouette of the mountains overlooking the city and the 3 squadrons there. This was during the late 1980s and Eagles are now long gone having been replaced by the F-117 (which are now retired). This was my first time using my new scanner so I'm still figuring out how to make it work properly which is why the highlights might be a little off.

Time: Around 30 hrs, Apr 14 - Feb 15
- 4H - 8B (used up a full 8B) Graphite
- mechanical pencils
- Blending stumps, Q-Tips
Size: A4 (8 1/2" x 11") 100 lb paper

Pako's F-15E Strike Eagle Commission by Sketchh22
Pako's F-15E Strike Eagle Commission
Finally finished! This commission is roughly 2 years in the making, with the project itself being started in April. The aircraft are from the 492nd Fighter Squadron, with Pako's personal jet (91-0301) being shown in the foreground. Per his request I also added extra ordinance on both jets to reflect the kind he used while flying in OEF. While this project was ultimately more time consuming and far more difficult than I originally thought, it was a great learning experience and of course getting paid the most I've ever received for a drawing wasn't bad too! Thanks Pako, enjoy!

Time: Almost 100 hours, April-Nov 2014
- 4H - 6B Graphite
- 0.5mm Mechanical Pencils
- Blending Stumps
- Q-Tips
Size: 17.5" x 20" Smooth Heavyweight paper
F-15E for 'Pako' Commission WIP by Sketchh22
F-15E for 'Pako' Commission WIP
Here is a drawing I've been steadily working on since May. Its a commission for the other F-15E crew member I met at Aviation Nation (callsign Pako) who enjoyed my work. Almost 2 years to the day and its finally nearly finished. Since this photo was taken I've completed the large jet and am putting the final touches on the one banking away. I will post the stats on the finished photo. Unfortunately the iPhone camera will have to do since I don't plan on getting it scanned due to time and money constraints, unless I get requests for copies.
Still-Life Wash 4 by Sketchh22
Still-Life Wash 4
Another wash still life drawing done for a college art class in Spring 2012.

Size: A4
Tools: Charcoal, water and brush
Time: About 2 hrs

Paper was wrinkled from the water which caused the scan to come out poor.

I haven't written a journal in awhile due to being extremely busy, which has also hampered my artwork as well. But, this spring I am committed to finishing more drawings as well as to continually improve as I go along. The F-15E was a tremendous undertaking that I finished with flying colors, and I must say it is without a doubt my best drawing to date. Now that its out of the way, I've already started another one with 2 more in the works. My goal is to finish at least 2 per month and 5 total by May. Life is getting extremely busy with school, ROTC, and transferring, but art is definitely a key part of my life and is something I plan to continue doing for as long as I can.

Also, please feel free to comment/fav and since I'm looking for ideas on subject matter if you have any suggestions leave me a message.

Thanks for reading!
